  • Electricity consumption and surplus: The AC electricity produced by the solar panels can power electrical loads within the premises. Suppose the solar system generates more electricity than is consumed. In that case, the surplus electricity can be fed back into the grid, allowing for net metering or other incentive programs where excess energy is credited.
